Kara Tondorf is a songwriter and also the founder of Rivershed Records. Kara’s songwriting career began in 2001 after recording her first album, “I Like Your Face.” After a 10 week US & Canadian tour Kara ended up in Los Angeles where she performed at various venues such as the Viper Room and The Mint. In 2003 Sony Records selected her original song “Your Words” for the soundtrack of the hit television show, “Dawson’s Creek.” Kara continued to write and perform in the first decade of 2000. She has had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Michelle Malone, Will Dailey, Toots & The Maytals, Melissa Ferrick, Ryan Montbleau and many more. In 2007 Kara landed herself a year in Nashville where she immersed herself in the writing scene and developed a passion for the food, music & culture of Nashville. In 2012 Kara got herself into the restaurant business and in 2014 she re-branded a new restaurant into The Rivershed which was heavily inspired by her inspiration in Nashville. She has found the opportunity to network with songwriters from New England to Nashville and let them perform on the Rivershed stage. In 2016 she recorded her Sophomore album, “Ever After,” in Nashville and was able to work with Grammy Award winning Producer, Pete Stewart. In 2019 she founded Rivershed Records which was inspired by the current status of the music industry, particularly for performing songwriters.
